Heat treatment, quenching and cooling of automotive plastic parts

Summary:Quenching oil for automotive plastic parts, quenching oil is generally suitable ...
Quenching oil for automotive plastic parts, quenching oil is generally suitable for the following parts and materials:
(1) Mould
The production of crankshafts, connecting rods, steering knuckles and other transmission components requires molds. The molds are large in size and should not be hardened. If the cooling speed is too fast, the workpiece will be easily cracked. Therefore, fast and ultra-fast quenching oil should be used.
(2) Gear
Such products generally require carburizing heat treatment to increase gear wear resistance and improve fatigue resistance. Deformability and high precision should be considered for the small and medium gears, so quenching oil is generally used as the cooling medium.
(3) Leaf spring
The thickness of such parts varies greatly, which is prone to cracks and may not be hardened, so rapid quenching oil is required.
(4) Standard parts
This variety of materials and small parts are generally produced in a multi-purpose continuous furnace and cooled by quenching oil. In addition, small products made of bearing steel, high-speed steel, stainless steel and other materials are also produced in multi-purpose furnaces, and multi-purpose furnace quenching oil is used as the cooling medium.
The use temperature of quenching oil is generally 60~80℃, and it is equipped with cooling and stirring device to ensure that the oil is not easy to age. During the use of quenching oil, it is necessary to strictly implement the heat treatment process requirements, prevent external pollution, monitor the status of oil products, and take timely adjustment measures to ensure the good use of oil products.
Automotive plastic parts using water-soluble quenching cooling medium generally include the following categories:
(1) Crankshaft
As the core components of the engine, the production process has a high level of continuity, and the application of PAG water-soluble quenching cooling medium Z is common.
(2) Small shaft products
There are many kinds of small shaft products such as half shafts, connecting rods, half shaft bushings, steering knuckles, steering ball joints, steering arms, steering interfaces, etc. No matter the structure is simple or complex, PAG water-soluble quenching cooling medium can be used. It is recommended to apply after specific tests.
(3) Carburizing and quenching workpiece
Many Yantai automotive plastic parts need to be carburized or carbonitrided to increase wear resistance and improve fatigue strength. The commonly used materials 20Cr, 20CrMnTi, 20CrMnMo originally used quenching oil as the cooling medium.
(4) Induction heat treatment workpiece
Crankshafts, half shafts, spline shafts, transmission shafts and other workpieces need induction heat treatment. Generally, PAG water-soluble quenching cooling medium can be used to meet the heat treatment requirements.
Before using PAG water-soluble quenching and cooling medium, the concentration of the medium should be checked. Generally, the concentration range is required to be ±1% of the set use value; and the quenching and cooling medium should be fully stirred to effectively kill bacteria by using oxygen in the air. Prevent or minimize all kinds of pollution.
Inorganic polymer water-soluble quenching cooling medium
In the actual production process, for some thick and large pieces of 45 steel, 40Cr and other materials, the core hardness and metallographic structure are strictly required. After quenching the cooling medium, a good hardness gradient and metallographic structure were obtained.
